Transit Oriented Developments – TOD
TOD’S along the RTD Light Rail
TOD is the acronym for Transit Oriented Development, closely associated with TOZ, or Transit Oriented Zoning. With the advent of light rail transit (LTR) in Metro Denver, the idea of special zoning of land in close proximity to LTR stops became viable. Development around LTR stops is now subject to unified planning, to create a more logical density and human friendly design.
Development activity is proposed or underway at many of the LTR stops located in Denver. A major office, hotel, and retail project is planned to augment the existiing office parkeand entertainment complex at Colorado Blvd and I-25, and the LAndmark complex at Bellevue and I-25 is already complete, with high end residential, shopping, and entertainment all witiin an easy walk to the LTR stop.
